U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce

The U.S. Commercial Service, the export promotion unit of the U.S. Department of Commerce, maintains an office in Seattle at the U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC).  Other offices in Washington State are located in Spokane and Tacoma.

With a network of offices throughout the United States and in over 80 countries, the Commercial Service offers export assistance to companies that manufacture or distribute American made products and services.  With overseas offices staffed by Americans and local experts conversant in technology sub-sectors, local customs and business practices, the Commercial Service offers consulting, matchmaking, market research, and promotional opportunities.

The U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC) is a partnership between the Commercial Service, the State of Washington's Export Finance Assistance Center (representing the U.S. Export-Import Bank) and the Small Business Administration' International Trade and Finance.  Together these organizations offer transaction-specific counseling on export trade finance, payment options, working capital and foreign-buyer finance, due diligence and country risk.
