Ken Myer, President and CEO
Ken Myer is currently President & Chief Executive Officer of the Washington Technology Industry Association with over 20 years of successful experience in the technology industry leading companies ranging in size from start ups to Fortune 100. As co-founder and CEO of Interval Systems, Mr. Myer positioned the company as one of the leading providers of software tools for industrial engineers to implement lean manufacturing. As Executive Vice President of publicly traded Active Voice Corporation, Mr. Myer led the worldwide marketing, sales, technical services, and customer service teams as they launched a new product line into the Fortune 2500 market. The success of the launch helped pave the way for an eventual buyout by Cisco in 2001 for $300M.
At IBM Corporation Mr. Myer held a variety of executive positions including General Manager of the Northwest and Intermountain Region, National Executive for the Computer Services Industries, and CFO IBM Northwest. Mr. Myer holds an MBA and Masters of Speech Communication from the University of Washington and is involved in the northwest education and technology non-profit communities. He is a current board member of Esna Technologies of Toronto and the Technology Alliance, where he served as Board President.
Drew Erickson, CFO
Drew Erickson manages Washington Technology Industry Association's finances and operations, including information technology, human resources, customer service and the Washington Technology Industry Association Group Purchasing Cooperative. Mr. Erickson has been involved in the Washington information technology industry for over ten years where he has held financial management positions with several software, hardware, and consumer technology companies. Mr. Erickson received his BA at Washington State University College of Business.
Lewis McMurran, Vice President of Government and External Affairs
Lew McMurran is currently Vice President of Government and External Affairs for Washington Technology Industry Association. He has been with the Washington Technology Industry Association since Sept. of 2000. He is responsible for and directs the Washington Technology Industry Association's lobbying and advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal level working with elected officials, educational institutions, business and civic associations, and the media. Mr. McMurran also acts as Washington Technology Industry Association's international liaison.
Mr. McMurran has an extensive background in advocacy and government affairs going back to 1989. He was Regional Director of Government Relations for Household International from 1989 to 1996, lobbied for the King County Council in 1997 and was Director of Government Relations for the Washington Public Utility Districts Association from 1997 until 2000.
He has worked on a wide range of issues including taxes, intellectual property, e-commerce, higher education, technology procurement, trade, telecommunications, video game content, personality rights, financial services, local government, energy and privacy. Mr. McMurran graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in Foreign Service.
Nicole Saewert, Dir. Marketing & Programs
Nicole Saewert leads Washington Technology Industry Association’s Marketing & Programs initiatives including branding, demand generation, events, and web presence. Ms. Saewert brings to her role over ten years experience as a marketing and sales professional in a diverse set of industries and companies including Pokemon USA, Captaris, eSociety, and Minolta Corporation.
In addition to her experience at commercial and non-profit organizations, Ms. Saewert has been an independent marketing consultant leading projects ranging from event and tradeshow management to integrated marketing and advertising planning. Ms. Saewert studied political science, organizational leadership, and mass communications at Western Michigan University and Penn State.
