The Southeast Washington chapter is the oldest Washington Technology Industry Association chapter in the state. The chapter’s area encompasses Tri-Cities, Yakima and Walla Walla up through Wenatchee and the adjacent counties. Founded in 1996 with the vision and leadership of Marv Erickson of Battelle/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the support of PNNL and Lockheed Martin IT, the Southeast Washington chapter has held many meetings, both formal and informal on a wide range of topics over the past decade.

As of 2006, PNNL is Washington Technology Industry Association’s chapter partner for the Southeastern part of Washington state. PNNL is a major economic driver for Washington, pulling in approximately $650 million annually from various federal government agencies to perform cutting edge research in the Tri-Cities.
